World Book Day

World Book Day was a huge success at our school this year, with students and staff dressing up as their favourite characters to celebrate the occasion. Not only did everyone have a lot of fun, but the day also helped raise money for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Today, our school hall was filled with a variety of colourful and creative costumes. There were characters from classic novels such as Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz, as well as modern-day favourites like Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and about 8 Gangster Grannies! Everyone had put in a lot of effort to make their costumes look as authentic as possible, with some even going so far as to make their own props.

As well as taking part in the festivities, our school also organised a fundraising event to support Turkey and Syria. We asked everyone who dressed up to donate money to the cause and were overwhelmed by the response. By the end of the day, we had raised over £300, which will go towards helping those in need in these two countries.

Overall, World Book Day was a great success. Not only did we get to celebrate our love of books, but we also raised a lot of money for a very worthwhile cause. We would like to thank everyone who donated and helped make this day such a success.
