Thames Park Secondary School, part of the Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust, follows values of equality, fairness, responsibility, and caring for others. The school’s Expectations Policy is designed to help students feel safe, supported, and motivated to do their best in school. This policy outlines how everyone in the school community—students, staff, parents, and governors—should behave and support one another.
Key Aims
The policy focuses on:
- Creating a safe and respectful environment.
- Teaching positive behaviour.
- Helping students manage emotions.
- Supporting students who struggle with behaviour or friendships.
- Using a fair, calm, and relationship-based approach to discipline.

Behaviour Management

For serious or repeated issues, students may be placed on report or referred to the Head of Year, with possible involvement from senior staff, parents, or governors.

- House points (leading to Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum awards).
- Weekly praise for good attendance, punctuality, and conduct.
- Recognition through certificates, trips, and other prizes.
Sanctions and Detentions
Detentions range from 20 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the behaviour. Repeated issues may lead to isolation, reflection room placement, or suspension.
